Transformative Justice

How do we punish this?

Why do our systems punish first and heal never?

Every system that touches this neighborhood is built to respond after harm, with punishment. None of them are built to prevent harm or to repair it.

Transformative justice is how we practice something else: accountability held in relationship, healing resourced as seriously as enforcement, and structures built outside of punishment as an organizing principle.
