Schools were not designed for the children of this neighborhood, and reform has not changed who holds the pencil. We build learning that begins with the young people in front of us and the community around them.
Our micro-school and Citizenship Schools teach reading, math, history, and organizing together, because knowing how the world works and knowing how to change it are the same lesson.
