How do we feed people?
Hunger in Old East Durham is not an accident of geography. It is the outcome of a food system that was never built to include us. So we did not build a pantry. We built a food economy this neighborhood grows, cooks, sells, and profits from.
The East Durham Market on Driver Street is the front door of that work: a food maker and gathering space in a place that had none, stocked with food from growers and makers who live here, alongside free distribution for neighbors who need it.

Food moves through this neighborhood in both directions.
The market at 306 S Driver is the store. Down the street at the CIP Building, 103 S Driver, neighbors pick up boxes of fresh food at no cost through the co-op, Thursdays at 5pm. Buying food from makers at the market and feeding the neighborhood at the co-op are the same work.
